The Chinese government approves Chile to set up a consulate general in Chengdu

The website of the Sichuan Foreign Affairs Office released information on October 10, stating that recently, it was learned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the Chinese government and the government of the Republic of Chile reached an agreement on the establishment of Chile’s consulate general in Chengdu. Agreed to Chile to set up a consulate general in Chengdu, the consular area includes Sichuan Province, Chongqing City, Guizhou Province, Yunnan Province, and Shaanxi Province.

Chile and China are both members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). Chile was the first country to sign a free trade agreement with China. Chile’s establishment of the consulate general in Sichuan will play a positive role in promoting investment, trade, and cultural exchanges between Sichuan and Chile and Latin American countries.

Chile is the first Latin American country to set up a consulate general in Sichuan.
