China provides free COVID-19 test to all Hong Kong citizens
Since July 31, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and the National Health Commission have successively issued statements of sending mainland test personnel to Hong Kong to assist in large-scale nucleic acid testing. The Chinese central government will contribute money to assist the Hong Kong SAR government in conducting free new coronavirus tests for all 7.5 million citizens.
On August 1st, Hong Kong has 121 new confirmed cases. 118 of which were local infections. So far, Hong Kong has more than 100 confirmed cases for ten consecutive days.
In the face of the third wave of the epidemic, the Chief Executive of the Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, when asked whether she had requested assistance from the central government, said that she had submitted a request to the central government earlier. And the central government has publicly expressed its willingness to provide support, including two aspects. Firstly, testing. Secondly, medical facilities. And in the long-view, she hopes that the central government can provide vaccines in the future.

The Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council said in a statement last night that the Central Government had decided, at the request of the SAR Government, to send mainland testing personnel to Hong Kong to assist in large-scale screening of nucleic acid testing and to help the SAR speed up the construction of temporary isolation and treatment centers.
At the same time, the National Health Commission has also set up the “Inner Local Cabin Hospital Support Team”. Wuhan City, Hubei Province has selected 6 experts with practical experience in the “Square Cabin Hospital”, including the hospital director, hospital sense, nursing, architecture, and design. Experts, providing technical support for the design, operation, and management experience of the Hong Kong Asia International Expo Hall into a “square cabin hospital”.
