Iran announces execution of a CIA spy

July 14th, Iran has executed a former Iranian defense ministry staff member who sold intelligence to the Cia, the Ministry of Justice said Thursday.

Iran execution CIA spy: Iranian Justice Ministry spokesman Esmeri said at a press conference that the former staff member of Iran’s Ministry of Defense’s aerospace department, Reza Asghari, was arrested by Iranian officials for selling information about Iran’s missile program to the CIA.

According to the Russian satellite news agency, Asghari contacted the CIA in his final years at the Defense Ministry and sold information about Iran’s missile program, according to the Russian satellite news agency. Esmeri said Asghari had been executed.

Esmeri also said Mahmoud Mousavi Majid, an Iranian accused of leaking to the CIA the whereabouts of Qassim Suleimani, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, has been approved and will soon be executed.

In the past years, Iran has announced the capture of 17 spies allegedly working for the CIA, according to Reuters.
